Fall Out Boy Arena Tour and "Young Volcanoes" Video

If you were not able to get tickets for Fall Out Boy's summer shows, do not fret!  They are having a stadium tour this fall with the brilliant Panic! At the Disco as support.

They even have a funny video to hype everybody up with P!ATD's Brennan Uri and FOB.

You can get dates and tickets on FOB's website.

Also the final installation of their music video story montage is up. I did not like these videos, they were too weird for me. Also BEWARE of this video is you do not want to see a shirtless woman.

Check out my review on their latest album Save Rock and Roll right here!

Review of Fall Out Boy's "Save Rock and Roll"

Fall Out Boy's high anticipated album Save Rock and Roll came out last week and is taking the world by storm.

I'm currently listening to albums for my radio station job and I wish I was listening to this album.  I absolutely love it. I can't even be unbiased as I write this because I love it so much!

The record starts off with two of the three singles, Phoenix and My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up).  The string orchestra in the first track and Patrick Stump's abrasive vocals captivate the listener.

Alone Together and Miss Missing You are two love songs that are catchy and fun but still stay true to the theme of rock and roll while having a pop essence as well.

Many of the tracks on this album have featured artists like Foxes ("Just One Yesterday"), Big Sean ("Mighty Fall"), and Elton John ("Save Rock and Roll").

I hate "Rat a Tat" with Courtney Love. The opening with her saying "It's Courtney, b!tch" ruined it. Britney Spears did it in 2007, it's done.

FOB out did themselves and put their band back on the market.  Bigger and more bad ass than ever.

Favorites: "Where Did the Party Go", "Death Valley", "Young Volcanoes"

Overall: 8.5/10

Anberlin Tour de Vital Review

Anberlin has been one of my all time favorite bands since I was 15 or 16 and I finally got to see them live!! I will certainly say that dreams come true.

The show was not packed, it was the smallest crowd that I had ever seen at the venue.  But the people that were there were die hard fans, which made it a great atmosphere and the show more enjoyable.

The two bands that have been opening for Anberlin on their Tour de Vital were Make Do and Mend (I didn't like these guys) and Paper Route (they were great!).

Last month I got to do merch for Paper Route, these guys are super duper nice and their music is great! I got to know the drummer, Gavin decently and let me tell you, he is SICK! They will be going on tour with Imagine Dragons in May. Trust me, these guys are going to blow up.

ANYWAY! Back to Anberlin.

Frontman, Steven Christian is quite a performer.  With his powerful and unique voice he lead the crowd in an hour and a half sing-a-long.  He danced around the stage, moving his hips as if he were Elvis Presley.

The band was great too, they sounded just like they do on CD.  Christian was incredible but I think his mic could have been turned up more.

They had an excellent set list!! I was so excited because they didn't only play songs from Vital and Dark is a Way, Light is a Place.  They played songs like "Unwinding Cable Car" off of Cities and "Paperthin Hymn" from Never Take Friendship Personal.

The crowd was screaming the lyrics along with Christian, people were clapping, jumping, and putting their "hands to the sky".  I loved it.

I would give the show a 4 out 5.

There are still a few dates left for the Tour de Vital (mainly in Canada), check here for tickets! Go see them while you can!

Jake Bugg Release to the US

19 year old English singer songwriter, Jake Bugg has finally released his sensational self-titled album to the States.

I work at my college's radio station so I get mailed a ton of LPs and EPs every week.  A couple months ago I received Jake Bugg's EP Two Fingers and I fell in love!

With his unique Bob Dylan-esq voice and sound, he is exactly the refreshing artist that the folk scene has been searching for.

The album is comprised of upbeat numbers like "Lightning Bolt" that bleed into the well crafted lyrics of "Trouble Town".  While songs like "Simple As This" and "Country Song" can lul one to sleep.

Bugg has his share of love songs ("Someplace") and also one's simply about goofing around, being a kid ("Two Fingers", "Seen It All").

This week his single "Lightning Bolt" is for free at the iTunes store! Please go download it!

To get a taste of his music and get to know him a bit more, he has a bunch of music videos out on his YouTube channel.

Also check his Spotify for the full album, commentary on each track, and a couple live tracks.

Check out jakebugg.com for the latest news on this up and coming artist!

Carousel Kings Video "Road Warrior"

Pizza loving, pop-punk band Carousel Kings has released a new video for their song "Road Warrior" from their EP Road Warrior.

This video is sick and there is a lot of pizza. More pizza than I've ever seen in a music video before.

These guys came to my school last year and I sadly missed the whole show! Super disappointed.

Hopefully these Pennsylvanians will get more notoriety this year and make PA known as the state where the coolest kids originate from.

Greeley Estates "Turn the Night Away"

Greeley Estates had released a single from their upcoming album Devil Son which will be out on April 9th.

The track is called "Turn the Night Away" and it is quite different from any of the tracks off of their previous record Narrow Road

The band states, "This was one of our favorite songs to write on the record. It is very different from anything we have done for a while now. I think it may catch some of our fans off guard, but hopefully overall it has a good response. The bridge is probably one of the heaviest moments Greeley has ever had."

I agree, I was not expecting this style of song when I pressed play. After listening and enjoying Narrow Road I did not really like this single.

I'm not a fan of GE but I do like what they put out but this song makes me second guess the quality of their new record.  What I really liked about their sound originally was their powerful and intense sound.  This song did not live up to those expectations at all.

Whatever, maybe the other songs will sound better than this.

If like it then you can also buy it through their Bandcamp account.
