Pierce the Veil Latest Music Video Release

Fearless Records band, Pierce the Veil has just released their latest music video for their song "Hell Above" from their album Collide With the Sky.

The video is them playing a show, just like any other band does in the scene. But there are certainly some selling points to it don't get me wrong.

These dudes look like they bring their A game except I feel like the rest of the dudes were way more intense and crazy than frontman, Vic Fuentes. This kind of surprised me but I understand that he has to sing and one cannot jump around and still pull off amazing vocals.

This video makes me want to go to a show which is probably what they want fans to feel.

If you are really inspired to see them they will be on tour with Memphis May Fire and letlive. You can get dates right here.

Ian Watkins Arrested

There are honestly just nasty, horrible people in this world and I will be the first to say that Ian Watkins is one of them.

Lead vocalist of Welsh rock band, Lostprophets, has been accused with child sex offenses.

According to the The Guardian"The 35-year-old has been charged with conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a female under 13 and possession/distribution of indecent images of children."

There are also two women, 20 and 24, who are suspected accomplices of Watkins. All three of them have been taken into custody by the Cardiff Bay pollice.

Rolling Stone reports that these indecent acts have been going on from May to December of this year.

Fearless Records and band members are saddened and shocked by this discovery.

This guy is a horrible person, taking away a child's innocence is one of the worst things that a person can do. I hope that he serves serious jail time.

I will be posting more news as the story progresses. He will be in court today so the information will be out as soon as it happens.

Attack Attack! Revamped

In the past week both the bassist, John Holgado and Caleb Shomo left their band Attack Attack!.

With this being the case, I thought for sure that this band was over but that is the exact opposite of what is happening!

Right away the band recruited Phil Druyor, lead vocalist of I Am Abomination, for vox and their merch guy, Tyler Sapp on bass.

The new revamped AA! even released a track called "No Defeat" yesterday. Be warned, it sounds nothing like the AA! you once new.

There is still the electronic aspect of the band but the vocals are clean. I am not digging it.

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO "STICK STICKLY"!!!!????

Alternative Press did an interview with Druyor and Andrew Wetzel, the drummer which you can check out here.

Wetzel says that they are going to be putting out a new record with as an independent label since their contract with Rise Records is up.

This AA! train is moving way too fast for me. Members quit, new members come in, a new track, and now talk of coming out with an album.

There will be more news about the band's album coming up in 2013.

We Came As Romans Lyric Video

We Came as Romans just released their new single "Let These Words Last Forever".

They made this lyric video that is good. I don't know what driving around in an old car has to do with the song but that's cool. I feel like the video footage is too chill to mesh well with the song.

But never the less, I like the lyrics of the song and am stoked for what this band will hopefully be releasing in 2013.

For the first half of the year WCAR will be on tour supporting The Used on their Take Action Tour.

For dates and tix check this link!

Attack Attack! Bassist Leaves Band

Popular electronic/metal band, Attack Attack! is going through a line up change as of their bassist, John Holgado has chosen to leave.

In an incredibly long Facebook post (which I cannot find on FB but found here from Alternative Press) he talks about his experience over the last 5 years with AA!.

The quick version of Holgado's post is:
-he is quitting because he is clinically depressed
-he is struggling with identity, for a while he debated if he is a homosexual
-in the end he concludes that he is not
-he tells his fans to cherish your family
-his main two pieces of wisdom are: you are what you're around and you are what you think

"All good things come to an end, and now I can finally breathe."

From all of the emotion poured into this post I truly think that he is doing the right thing for his mental health. I sincerely hope that he can get his life together.

But one thing that really makes me upset is what people are saying about him and the band on their FB page. I cannot understand people who write hateful, spiteful, malicious comments just to make themselves feel better. Saying mean things does not make any situation better, it only makes it worse.

Glass Cloud Release New Video

Photo Cred: Caroline Moore Photography

Glass Cloud has gone through some drama this fall with a van accident but this has not affected their spunk.

The band has just finished up the AP Tour, opening for Miss May I and The Ghost Inside, they took footage from the tour and compiled it into a sweet new music video!

The video is for the song "She is Well and Nothing Can Be Ill" and shows them on and off stage during the tour.

The best part of the video is their ULTRA sick guitarist, Joshua Travis with his 8-string. He is one of the most hardcore dudes in the scene.

Check him out shredding right here!!

I also really like frontman, Jerry Roush's shirt that says "Die Old, Live Smoke Free".  It's awesome that he is making that statement about his life especially since he is playing for teenagers and young adults every night.

Their current release is The Royal Thousand check it out on iTunes or on Spotify.

Yellowcard "Awakening" Video

Alternative rock legends, Yellowcard have released a video for their song "Awakening" from their latest record Southern Air.

The video is all animated and everybody looks like those little people that you can make on the Wii.

With technology today, YC should be able to hire somebody to create a better animated video than this. IT'S FREAKING 2012!

The storyline is that frontman, Ryan Key gets left at a truck stop and he has to find his way to the show before the band goes on. Yeah, it's kind of boring.

But I absolutely love the track which makes it all worth while!

My friends and I are going to see them in January and I am beyond stoked!! For all of the latest Yellowcard updates check back here!

Mayday Parade Start Side Project

Brooks Bett and Jeremy Lenzo from the popular emo/pop-rock band Mayday Parade are collaborating with Bett's girlfriend, Alexandra Kees, to create the trio, Truth or Consequence.

TOC has more of a folk rock sound which is probably what most fans would not expect from the members of a popular pop rock band.

But for Absolute Punk, they were far from surprised at the group's choice of genre.

"...seemingly fitting for the vibe in addition to the fact that both Betts and Lenzo come form the rhythm section of Pop Rock group Mayday Parade."

The trio has released one song titled "She Smiles" which will be on their upcoming EP Second Fiddle. The EP comes out on Christmas, December 25th to iTunes.

According to Alternative Press, it will be a "seven song affair displaying a more mellow, country influenced approach to rock."

For me the track is alright, nothing special. I love folk music but this just sort of bored me.

Check out the track and comment below what you think!

Phoenix Follow-Up Album

French indie rock band, Phoenix are giving hints at their upcoming album.

The photo above is taken from their website and is titled "ALBUM IN PROGRESS".

No one is sure whether this is the name of the album or just an acronym, but either way I am stoked.

Rolling Stone was talking with Daniel Glass, head of the band's label, and said "that they had completed the record in a Paris studio."

According to Glass, the album will be released in April of 2013.

Paramore Announce Album Title

Today Paramore has released the title of their fourth album, which is self-titled, Paramore.

The band made a post on their website about the album and what fans can expect.

The trio say that the first single will be called "Now".

"It just feels like the perfect way to start this new journey we are embarking on not only as a band but as a movement. To show people that you can lose battles but come back and win full on wars. You can rise from ashes. You can make something out of even less than nothing. The only thing you have to do is keep moving forward!"

The album will be debuting in stores and online on April 9th, 2013.

Oh, Sleeper Member Quits

Oh, Sleeper's guitarist James Erwin has decided to step down from his position in the band and move on with his life.

The former guitarist posted a Facebook status on December 1st saying that it is time for him to quit. He will be leaving after their Australia/New Zealand tour with For All Eternity and Storm the Sky.

To fill the void, bassist Nate Grady will be taking up the spot. In this video, Grady proves to his fans that he is ready to shred and is bringing his A-game!

He talks in the video that it has been his dream to play guitar for a band. He is now having his dreams come true!!

On Monday, December 3rd the band posted again on Facebook announcing Grady's promotion and also made a comment about making a new album in 2013.

"We are very excited to have him as we begin the writing process for the NEW OH SLEEPER ABLUM TO BE RELEASED NEXT YEAR! Get excited, because this next Oh,Sleeper album will be unlike anything you have ever heard from us before."

I am certainly stoked BEYOND stoked for the new line up and album. These guys are my absolute favorite and I can't wait to see what these guys have been cooking up in the studio.

For a glimpse at their past work check out these videos:
"Endseekers"
"Son of the Morning"

Make Me Famous Break Up

Ukrainian, hardcore/electronica band, Make Me Famous are calling it quits. Well at least their lead vocalist, Denis Shaforostov, is.

The band more or less kicked him out because he thought that he was better than everybody else in the band.

The members said that he was extremely rude, disrespectful, and a royal jerk. They had had enough.

"We would like to make a statement on the state of Make Me Famous. We four members were never treated like equal musicians to Denis Shaforostov. According to Denis, he was the only member in the band and he treated the rest of us as unpleasant as humanly possible, it was not fun being in a band with him. It was as if everybody but Denis were hired musicians and were expected to do any and everything that he would tell to us to do. Denis would also expect to keep a larger portion of any band income, in return he would treat us disrespectfully and give everyone in the band and the bands team an everlasting negative attitude. From those on the inside of the industry, this might not come as much of a surprise."

I don't blame these guys at all for kicking out Shaforostov. The name of their band certainly fits his goals for music; just to make money and get famous.

The four remaining members will be finishing up their It's Now or Winter tour with our vocalists taking over his vox part in their live shows.

Sumerian Records is going to keep the quartet on the label and will work with them so that they can continue as a group with a new name.

Check out full statements from the band and their apology video here from Alternative Press.

Devin Shelton Solo Project

Devin Shelton, a former member of alternative rock band Emery, is planning on releasing a solo album on January 22nd, 2013.

He has not put out anything since his final album with Emery, In Shall Seas We Sail, so hearing what he's been working on will be exciting.

The picture above is from Devin's surprise performance with Emery at Uprise Festival 2011. It was amazing to get to see him perform in frontman, Toby Morrell's place.

So keep your ears and eyes open for more news about his release!

Woe, Is Me Stream Genesi[s]

Woe, is Me, the once incredibly popular Rise Records band, has released the content of their new album Genesi[s] on YouTube. Even though the album comes out tomorrow.

Check out the album with many, many lyric videos here.

Reading through some of the comments on www.altpress.com, fans don't seem to psyched about the bands latest release. They say that is sucks and that they're first album Numbers was way better.

The reason for this is because of the new line up the band has. Some people just can't handle change.

I've been listening through a few tracks and I am not in love with it but it's not the worst thing I've ever heard. TRUST ME, I work at a college radio station.

But if you really enjoy the record, pick it up online or in stores tomorrow.

Cherri Bomb

Teen girls making rock music can be a scary thing, but Cherri Bomb is kicking all of their haters in the face. Their music is sick for all of them being under 16.

The band was on Warped Tour this summer and gained a large fan base in the alternative music scene.

The quartet just released their music video for their single "Too Many Faces". The song is great, you will possibly be really surprised at the awesomeness of it all.

They currently have their first album out with Hollywood Records (that's Disney) titled This is the End of Control. Check it out on Spotify and of course on iTunes.

Switchfoot Holiday Packages

Switchfoot has released their holiday packages on their online store for the months of November and December!

The packages go from $35, $50, and $70 with tons of different of the band's merch. Check them out here! Orders will not be shipped until December 1st.

Also if you scroll down on the page that the link takes you to, the bassist, Tim Foreman talks about this three song EP that they are releasing called Backstage EP.

It consists of their Christmas song "Evergreen", "Afterlife", and "Needle in Haystack Life" all recorded acoustic during their pre-show warm up.

Switchfoot is one of my favorite bands so the idea of this EP makes me very excited! I bet it is seriously sick. Their store does not sell it by itself and it is also not on Spotify but hopefully they will be selling them without the packages.

Such Gold

Up and coming punk band Such Gold has released their first music video for their latest release Misadventures.

The video is for "Two Year Plan" which is the first track off the album.

The Razor and Tie Records punk outfit have had exposure in major publications like Alternative PressSubstream Music Press, and Absolute Punk.

Maybe they will even get to be on Warped Tour for next summer! After that I am positive that they will totally explode in the alternative scene.

Matt and Toby "Life of the Party" Video

Matt and Toby just released their first official music video for their single "Life of the Party" from their up and coming self-titled release with Tooth and Nail Records.

This duet is a side project for both musicians from their ultra sick, rock band Emery.

YES, that is why they look familiar!

Their stuff is great and I love seeing Matt and Toby work together on something different.

The two of them have also been working on a website with a friend of their's called www.un-learning.org which is about learning/unlearning/relearning different life concepts.

Check it all out!!!

You can pre-order their album here or wait until the 19th of November to get it right quick.

I See Stars Kicked Off Tour Part 3

So finally the truth has come out! Over the last 3 days there has been controversy between Ronnie Radke of Falling in Reverse and I See Stars on the The Thug in Me is You tour.

To get fully updated check out my last two previous posts.

Sumerian Records, ISS's label, has made a statement about the band getting kicked off the tour by Radke.

ISS was first kicked off because of the arrest for marijuana possession but then was allowed to come back on and not get paid for their work. The band did this so that their fans could still come out and see them play.

They claim that Radke was violent and disrespectful to everyone in ISS which lead to him kicking them off of the tour.

Check out this link to read I See Stars and Sumerian Records complete statements and also learn more about Ronnie Radke. There are links to different sites reporting about him being violent and essentially a jerk.

I See Stars Kicked Off Tour Part 2

Electronic hardcore band, I See Stars was recently kicked off of Falling in Reverse's tour The Thug in Me is You by frontman Ronnie Radke.

You can read more about it on my previous post about Radke's side of the story.

ISS is not going down without a fight. The band says that the reason they got removed from the tour was because of Radke's "antagonistic violent behavior, his ego, and his malicious intent".

The band's label Sumerian Records will be releasing a statement about this situation to "tell the truth about why they were removed".

Check out ISS's response to Radke here.

I See Stars Kicked Off Tour

Sumerian Records favorite I See Stars has been kicked off of the Thug In Me Is You Tour by Ronnie Radke of headlining band, Falling in Reverse.

I See Stars had previously been arrested for drug possession earlier in the year when Radke had invited them to be on their tour.

"If you have been following my story, you know I am very serious about my sobriety and have been sober for 4+ years now", says Radke.

He then removed them from the tour before it started but Sumerian Records called Radke and informed him that the band wouldn't be using any drugs during the tour.

Though the band may not have used drugs, instead they were unprofessional and frequently late to shows. So Radke decided it was best for the tour to cut them.

To read Ronnie Radke's full statement check it out over there.

Mitch Lucker Update

Alternative Press has been keeping the metal world updated with information about the death of Mitch Lucker, the frontman for death metal band Suicide Silence.

Yesterday he was declared dead by the UC Irvine Medical Center in Huntington Beach, California.

According to his wife, Jolie Lucker he had been drinking that night and then left the house on his motorcycle. She was driving in her car behind him and saw him crash into a light pole.

Click here to read more of what she said and also see pictures from last nights vigil in Huntington.

This is a video from the vigil where Jolie and other members of the family talk about Lucker.

Please keep his family and friends in your prayers.

Mitch Lucker Killed in Motorcycle Crash

Frontman Mitch Lucker of  Suicide Silence has been reported dead today from a motorcycle accident.

He was riding Wednesday night and was emitted into the hospital after getting into an accident near Huntington Beach in California. He was pronounced dead this morning.

You can read more here. There will be more information out later today and throughout the week.

The man was only 28 years old and inspired so many people with his vocals and his band. It always hurts me to hear that somebody so young, who influenced tons of individuals had to be taken away this early in life.

Rest in peace, Mitch. You will certainly be missed.

Green Day and Twilight???

Green Day + Twilight should not equal their new track "The Forgotten".

So Green Day's new single will be present on the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 soundtrack.

They just released the video today and it certainly makes me sad.

Previously I had thought that this punk trio was about the music and not the money. They are probably making tons of money off this track for the movie! Twilight is a HUGE franchise if you weren't aware.

On the the recent October issue of Alternative Press, they got the cover and it said "Green Day: Still Punk as F**k".

How can one be "punk as f**ck" and make a music video for the new Twilight movie????????

What has this world come to?

Underoath released one of their two final songs that they recorded, "Sunburnt".

Fun. Release "Carry On" Video

Photo Cred: Bo Williams Photography

The insanely popular trio, Fun. has released their 3rd music video from their sophomore record Some Nights"Carry On".

The feel of the video is very much a "drinking song". There is a scene in the video that is the band at a bar with a whole group of people singing the lyrics and raising their glasses in agreement.

Great quality of video and I love the different places that they filmed. They show a lot of clips from their live show which is brilliant.

If you ever get a chance to see them live, DO IT! They played at my college in the spring and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Lacey leaves Flyleaf

Flyleaf's long time frontwoman, Lacey Sturm, will be leaving the band. Replacing her will be Kristen May who used to play in Vedera.

The band's new release New Horizons  will be her final production with the band. The album will be up for pre-order on the 30th of October.

I am extremely sad to see her go but I completely understand her choice.

Between Memento Mori and the new record she has become a wife and mother. Her family needs her and her time with Flyleaf is now over.

To read the band's comments and Lacey's message check it at that link!

Flyleaf's music has helped shape who I am as a person and was also something that really helped me grow spiritually and emotionally throughout high school.

It really sucks that all of the bands that I once adored are calling it quits. I guess that's what happens to every great band eventually.

Thank God there is still Bob Dylan!

Phinehas

Phinehas, a metal band with Red Cord Records, has just released a new music video!!

These 4 guys from California know how to shred and really make some music tracks. Their skills are showcased in their 2011 release thegodmachine

The video for "My Horses Are Many" is absolutely hilarious. The song totally doesn't match the scene but for some reason it works.

The band is at a mini golf/go-kart/arcade place and they are singing along with the words, playing their instruments, and causing a ruckus.

What is also hilarious is that the frontman, Sean McCulloch, will be centered in the shot and random backgrounds will flash behind him. It's crazy!

So definitely check out the video if you are in the mood for a good laugh.

Anberlin

Anberlin's album Vital was FINALLY released on Tuesday the 16th. And all I can say is: fantastic. This album may be the quintets best work.

I have been a fan of the Orlando based band since I was in high school. When they were just leaving Tooth and Nail Records for Universal Records.

That choice was a great one even though I love TNR. If they wouldn't have switched over, the quality of their music would not have reached the potential that it is at now. They are now no longer constrained to the "Christian band"label which allowed them to create music more freely.

The record has songs that are all unique in their own way. Some tracks are edgier and something that will they will certainly play at their live shows ("Self-Starter", "Little Tyrants", "Someone Anyone").  Then there are tracks that show a completely different side of the band musically ("Innocent", "Type Three") with strings and slight synth.

I actually don't know if synth is the word I want to use...like there was the use of technology to make certain sounds and blend the sounds.

One of the best things about Anberlin is their really deep and passionate lyrics. Their emotions are so palpable and relatable to the listener. It's beautiful!

I give this album 4/5! Great stuff, guys!!

Check out the album on Spotify!

Miss May I

Miss May I is one of the most popular bands with Rise Records. They rocked across the country this summer on Vans Warped Tour and they are now going to be headlining the Alternative Press Tour this fall.

The band released their latest video for the song "Day by Day" from their 2012 record At Heart.

The video is a riot and the band is arrested and put into a police van. Yeah, it's pretty sick. It's in black and white and you never really get a clear shot of anything which is how a real riot would be like, unstable.

Def check it out!

I am going to try and get a Spotify player for this blog so I will be able to put music with each post! I am super stoked and cannot wait to amp this page up.

Sleeping With Sirens

Sleeping With Sirens, the Rise Records sensation, as just released a new music video!

The video is for the song "Roger Rabbit" off their latest EP release "If This Were a Movie, This Would be Your Soundtrack".

This EP showcases frontman Kellin Quinn's vocal crooning abilities. He is melting every girl's heart with his romantic lyrics and gentle voice.

Kind of reminds me of Never Shout Never to a degree.

After seeing this video I am going to give this band a second try. I listened to their full length from 2011 "Let's Cheers to This" and was disappointed.

I disliked his voice because I didn't think it meshed with the alternative sound of the band. But maybe now I am going to listen once again.

Here are some more SWS videos that rock:
"If You Can't Hang"
"If I'm James Dean, You're Audrey Hepburn" (this song is old but good)
"Do It Now, Remember It Later"

Onward to Olympas

Onward to Olympas is a hardcore band signed with Facedown Records from North Carolina.

They gained notoriety in 2010 with their album "This World is Not My Home" and getting the chance to play at large festivals like Cornerstone and Purple Door Festival.

Their sophomore album "Indicator" is dropping on October 9th which you can pre-order and receive various bundles and stuffs.

Today they released their first single off the record, Wolf's Jaw. And I must say that I have never seen a dude get so incredibly sweaty so quickly.

I'm sure it took a while to film and it probably gets really hot when you're playing but OH MAN this guy is sweaty!!

This guy needs a shower.

Underoath Tracks to Mourn To

Alternative Press's Matthew Colwell and millions of others across the globe are in mourning of Underoath declaring their break up this week.

So Matt was so kind enough to create the Top 10 Underoath tracks to mourn their break up over.

He has tracks from Changing of Times up to their most recent Disambiguation. Each choice is spot on, I wouldn't change the list at all!

So you can listen to the tracks and cry as much as you need to. Don't worry, you're not alone.

Texas in July

Texas in July is releasing their self-titled album on October 9th with Equal Vision Records.

But lucky for everybody who doesn't want to spend money! Revolver Magazine has their entire track list up to listen to for free by clicking that link.

If you are really digging the record then you can pre-order it right here! There are multiple bundles with shirts, hats, and posters!

Underoath is Over

Underoath has officially decided to end their long 15 year journey. After releasing numerous mind blowing albums, creating crazy music videos, and touring the world, they are calling it quits.

You can read their farewell on their Facebook and try not to shed a tear while reading it.

Their main reasoning is that they are just closing this chapter. That it is time for all of them to move on and try something new.

They will be releasing a "career retrospective album" called "Anthology 1999-2013". It will include fan favorites from all of their previously released albums and two new songs. This will be coming out on November 6th with Solid State Records.

This band and their music has been such a huge part of the last few years of my life. I remember when somebody introduced them to me and I said, "Everybody likes Underoath therefore they can't be good."

And boy was I wrong! They have been one of my favorite bands since I was 15 and couldn't imagine my high school years without them. They brought me into the hardcore scene which resulted in me listening to heavier music, buying skinny jeans, and frequently attending various shows.

Without them I don't think I would be the same person that I am today.

Question!? What is your favorite album or song of theirs? And more importantly, WHY DO YOU LOVE UNDEROATH?

Please comment. I will love you.

Anchor and Braille "Goes Without Saying" Video

Anchor and Braille (I have posted on these guys before) is a duo of Stephen Christian from Anberlin and some other cute dude, who make wonderful music.

They just released their latest music video for "Goes Without Saying" from their second album "The Quiet Life".

I love the song and also the video. It is just a story of a hipster couple going on an adventure for the day. They go to the thrift store, gas station, jump in a hotel pool, and set off fireworks.

It just...works. I really like it and you should check it out!!

A Past Unknown

A Past Unknown started following me on Twitter (along with a bunch of other metal bands that I've never heard of) so I thought that I would write up a blog post about them! I will probably be doing promos for these other bands that follow me as well so get psyched!

This metalcore band reigns from the plains of Iowa and has been together since 2009.

They have a "get to know the band" video that you can check out here. It's about how they got together (which was via Facebook message) and why the band does what they do.

They are now signed with Red Cord Records and came out with their first full length in 2011 called "To Those Perishing".

The band is about to release their sophomore album "Vainglory" which will be available on the 9th of this month, it'll be on iTunes or you can get a physical at their merch site.

So I've been listening to their album a bit in these few minutes that I've been writing up this blog and I really dig their stuff! I am excited to see what they are bringing to the table when they're album drops.

Here are some videos you can check out!
"Curses"
"Nothing to Hide"

For more A Past Unknown check out their Facebook, Twitter, and listen to their album on Spotify!

POP SHUVIT

Pop Shuvit has come across my path and I am really glad that they did. They are a Malaysian group that has been around since 2001. Yeah and that's not a typo. They got together when I was 8...I'm 19 now.

Their music style is a mix of alternative and hip hop with some sweet techno beats. Each song is something completely different which is quite refreshing.

They only have like 24,000 likes on their Facebook which I find really odd because of the talent that this group possesses.

Maybe 2012 will be there year and they will finally sign to an actual label and get exposure throughout the world.

The only place that I can really find their music is on their website. Def check them out! They could use the exposure!

Yellowcard Acoustic Video

Yellowcard released an acoustic video of their song "Telescope" off their latest album "Southern Air".

The video is frontman Ryan Key playing guitar and in the background are videos of Yellowcard back in the day. It's cool to see him reflecting on the past and the band's success and how far they have come.

The clips they play are really neat, they're jumping around and playing for these insane crowds. It's actually really punk rock and I love it.

As I Lay Dying New Album Stream

As I Lay Dying has grown to be as popular as bands like Slipknot, Killswitch Engage, and Lamb of God.  Today they released their latest record with Metal Blade Records titled "Awaken".

This album is seriously sick! I haven't really listened to these guys since I was in high school but after listening to the first couple tracks I am definitely going to buy this!

They have the entire album up online for free listening right here! If you love the unique beauty of metal then you will love As I's new album!!

ALSO!!!! Today there are tons of records being dropped other than this one.

Mumford and Sons has "Babel" up on iTunes with a deluxe edition that is over priced and the still overpriced regular one. It is cheaper if you get the normal album and then buy the 2 bonus tracks separately.

This or the Apocalypse released their sophomore album "Dead Years" (this is at a normal price, just fyi) and Showbread has their album "Cancer" up for free on Come & Live!'s website.

I bought all of these so I will be taking a listen to them this week and telling you guys what I think!

Thi'sl

So I am not really into rap or hip-hop but I really like this dude Thi'sl!

He has been involved in the rap scene since he was a kid and uses his music to convey the pain and struggles that he has been living in the inner-city of St. Louis, Missouri.

He has five free tracks available right here to promote his new album "We Are Blind" coming out on November 20th.

I really love his passion and that the listener can really feel what he is conveying. It's beautiful, it's poetry.

The Rocket Summer Fall U.S. Tour

The Rocket Summer is going on a fall United States tour and is bringing his friends The Classic Crime and William Becket.

The list of dates and venues is right here!

TSR's Bryce Avary will be promoting his latest 2012 project "Life Will Write the Words". He will most likely be performing his single "200,000" and will expect everybody to know the words.

I personally do not like TSR, I don't like his voice. In his single, I like the instrumental part but his lyrics and vocals just don't do it for me.

On the flip side, I adore The Classic Crime! Their music is brilliant, the lyrics are deep and raw, and Matt MacDonald's vocals are gorgeous.

They will be promoting their latest album "Phoenix" which they did independently with the help of Kickstarter and hundreds of donors.  Check out their song "Dead Rose".

My favorite video from these guys is "Abracadavars" from their sophomore record "The Silver Cord".

Then the opener of the tour is The Academy Is...'s William Beckett who has recently started doing his own solo work. He released his second EP titled "Winds Will Change" this year.

At this link you can listen to his full EP for free! It sounds pretty good so hopefully he will be able to survive on his own independent label and flourish as an artist.

Uprise Festival and The Reckoning Tour

                                                                  Oh, Sleeper
 Wolves at the Gate
Switchfoot

This past weekend I went to Uprise Festival in Shippensburg and right after the festival I hit up The Reckoning Tour put on by Needtobreathe to promote their new album. So I'm going to talk about the festival first and then the concert!

Uprise Festival: At this 2 day festival I got to see almost all of my favorite bands which was totally worth the $50 for my ticket!

On the first day I saw Switchfoot perform and they were awesome as always! They played a lot of songs from their latest album Vice Verses like "Where I Belong", "War Inside", and "Restless".

After they finished the frontman, Jon Foreman put on an acoustic set which I LOVED!! He did a lot of unreleased songs that he will be putting out on the new Fiction Family album, coming out...someday. He played a few songs from his Seasons EPs from a few years back which was really cool.

The next day the event opened up with Wolves at the Gate and they were amazing! I love seeing them and chatting with them after the show. Seriously, the nicest guys ever.

After them Nine LashesFlatfoot 56Project 86 played. P86 was fantastic by the way, their new songs are sick!

Oh, Sleeper was the last band I saw at the festival and by far my favorite show! They have been my favorite for 2 years and they certainly live up to that title in my mind. Frontman, Micah Kinard was beautiful and his screaming was wonderful. He has so much talent.

The Reckoning Tour: This show was the icing on the cake for my show filled weekend. Needtobreathe KILLED it. They had sold out the venue and they rightfully did.

They had an incredible stage set up with fancy lights and typewriter keys that lit up that said "The Reckoning".

Every member of the band was spot on with notes, harmonies, and general stage presence. They ooze talent and put on an amazing show. If you haven't gotten a chance to see them you seriously should consider it. You will not be disappointed.

Here are some pictures taken from the show taken by a girl I work with!!

Random Stuff: I am SO SO SO psyched!!! This blog has reached 405 views today I can't even believe it. I just made this so that I could practice writing and people are actually glancing at it.

Thank you for reading!! I really, really appreciate it.

This Icelandic folk group is currently on tour and will be making their rounds in Iceland (duh), Sweden,  Canada, the United States (YAY!), the United Kingdom, and the rest of Europe.

Check out their Facebook (which is linked above) for dates and tickets!

This or the Apocalypse

This or the Apocalypse is a metal band from my home state of PA and they are releasing their sophomore record, Dead Years on 9/25 with eOne Entertainment.

I just listened to their first single from the album "In Wolves" and it is sick!

They have been together since '08 and released their first project "Haunt What's Left" in 2010. Here is their awesome video for their single, "Subverse".

Their fans have been patiently waiting for the release of this album since it's been 2 years since they've put anything new out.  The album will hopefully satisfy all of the hungry appetites for something fresh.

To pre-order the album and choose from various packages (t-shirts, a shot glass (?), and a backpack) right here!

Love and Death

Love and Death has just been signed to Tooth and Nail Records!

This hard rock band that Brian "Head" Welch, the former guitarist of Korn, has put together has been touring and playing at festivals since 2010 has finally gotten their big break.

Head's haunting vocals and his bands' powerful guitar and drums all come together on their latest EP Chemicals (available on iTunes and Spotify).

Personally, I have seen them twice and it is just not my cup of tea. Yes, I love music that is depressing, raw, and rock solid but this is too much for me.

I love Head as a person, I've heard his life story and think that he is a very true individual. But his music is just not for me.

But don't let my negative comments dissuade you from checking out their stuff though!

Check out their "Chemicals" music video!
